Description
Assistant Pricing Manager About the Role Our mission is to help customers save time and money when purchasing commercial kitchen equipment and supplies by providing a customer-centric shopping experience. We leverage our industry buying power to offer top quality products and services. We are seeking a highly organized, articulate, and team-oriented Pricing Manager to lead our ecommerce pricing operations. This is a people management role first — you will oversee a team of approximately four pricing analysts who handle the day-to-day data analysis, competitive monitoring, and pricing adjustments. Your primary responsibility is to empower, organize, and optimize that team while developing a strong working knowledge of pricing strategy and industry practices. The ideal candidate is an exceptional communicator, both written and verbal, with a natural aptitude for structured thinking, team coordination, and continuous learning. A background in law, contract analysis, compliance, or similar fields is highly advantageous — particularly for interpreting, applying, and strategically navigating Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) policies across our digital channels. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage a team of ~4 pricing analysts, providing direction, structure, and day-to-day oversight of their workflow and output. Serve as the organizational hub of the pricing department — coordinate priorities, streamline processes, and ensure the team operates efficiently, while working independently simultaneously. Develop a working understanding of pricing strategies, margin management, and ecommerce pricing trends to provide informed leadership and guidance. Oversee MAP policy compliance across all digital channels — identifying potential violations by competitors and communicating findings to MAP administrators. Interpret MAP policy language with precision; apply a detail-oriented, analytical approach to assess compliance boundaries and strategically evaluate where policies may create opportunities or ambiguities. Communicate clearly and professionally with internal stakeholders (sales, ecommerce, product) and external parties (MAP administrators, vendors) on pricing matters. Review team output for accuracy, escalate issues appropriately, and maintain high standards for data integrity — without necessarily performing the analysis directly. Monitor industry pricing trends and competitor behavior, briefing leadership on relevant developments. Support the development of internal pricing documentation, SOPs, and reporting processes.   Skills and Requirements 3+ years of experience in a team leadership, operations management, pricing coordination, or related role — experience managing small teams strongly preferred. Exceptional written and oral communication skills; able to draft precise, professional correspondence and present information clearly to cross-functional stakeholders. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, track team deliverables, and maintain structured workflows. Analytical mindset with the ability to understand and interpret pricing data at a high level, even if hands-on analysis is performed by your team. Experience working with large data sets or data-heavy operations is a plus; comfort reviewing reports and identifying meaningful patterns. Background in law, compliance, contract analysis, or technical writing is highly valued — particularly for MAP policy interpretation and argumentation. Familiarity with MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) policies, including how to identify competitor violations and communicate them effectively to MAP administrators. Ability to read policy language critically and identify permissible strategies and compliance boundaries. Experience with ecommerce platforms (NetSuite, Shopify, Magento, or similar) is a plus, but not required. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for review
