Why join Giga
The Pace: We're building at a speed most companies talk about but never actually operate at. If you've been bored somewhere else, you won't be here.
The Impact : Every person at Giga touches the work that matters. No layers, no waiting for approval chains. You'll see your fingerprints on what we ship.
The Team: A team of operators defining the future of AI infrastructure. We recruit A-players from the most innovative companies in the world, and they choose Giga because the work here means more.
The Moment : AI doesn't run without power, and that's us. Giga is the picks and shovels behind the AI revolution. This industry is about to explode, and you'll be in the room where it's already happening.
What you’ll do
We are seeking a highly passionate and motivated Transformer Applications Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on supporting the technical bidding and submittal processes for our medium voltage pad mount transformers and high voltage power transformer offerings. The ideal candidate will work cross-functionally with domestic and international team members and occasionally with manufacturers to ensure effective communication of and alignment with customer equipment requirements for projects.
Where you’ll work
We are an in-office culture — velocity matters when you're building physical infrastructure, and the best decisions happen in the room. This role is ideally based in our San Francisco, Long Beach, or Houston offices, with full-time onsite expectations outside of bi-weekly WFH Fridays.
That said, we will make exceptions for truly exceptional talent if you live outside one of our hubs. If you're the right person for this role, we'll have a conversation about what works.

Assist in drafting of equipment device bill-of-materials including the selection of suitable components and monitoring devices
Evaluate alignment of supplier and partner proposals with customer requirements and internal standards (pre and post-drawing)
Support internal and external engineering team understanding of project needs
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, products, and competitor offerings
Participate in meetings with vendors and foreign application engineers, both virtually and in-person, to support the team
Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless communication and coordination between sales, manufacturing, engineering, and customer support departments
Travel occasionally to customer sites and manufacturing facilities as needed
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field (Master’s a plus)
5+ years of experience in three-phase, oil-filled, medium and high-voltage distribution and power transformers in the North American market
Willingness to be on-call beyond typical work hours
Bonus points
Familiar with NEC, NEMA, IEEE, and UL requirements for North American transformers
Strong commitment to speed in delivery
Strong technical understanding of medium and high voltage power transformers required; experience in a technical sales or engineering role preferred
