Position Overview: The Account Officer is responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations of the clearing and forwarding company. This role involves maintaining financial records, ensuring compliance with Tanzanian tax regulations, and preparing accurate financial reports to support strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities Financial Oversight Supervise the daily activities of the accounting work, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. Monitor accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely invoicing and payments. Reconcile bank statements and ensure proper handling of cash flow. Make the proper records of the payment and organize the report on a daily basis. Budgeting and Reporting Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts. Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management. Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost optimization.                                                                                                                          Tax and Regulatory Compliance Ensure compliance with Tanzanian tax laws, including filing of VAT, income tax, and other statutory returns. Liaise with external auditors and tax authorities to address any inquiries or audits. Keep abreast of changes in financial regulations and implement necessary adjustments. File and submit the Paye, NSSF, WCF, and other government payment on time. Policy & Procedure Management Develop, implement, and monitor accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and control. Conduct periodic reviews of financial systems and recommend improvements. Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping practices are adhered to. Stakeholder Communication Act as the primary point of contact for financial matters with clients, suppliers, and internal departments. Provide financial advice and insights to support operational and strategic initiatives.
